Following Neil's graduation from the University of West Florida in 1982, he spent five of the next twelve years on the road and abroad. His travels carried him over five continents and countless cultures all of which provided an amazing education and tremendous inspiration.
One common thread woven throughout all of the traveling and wilderness expeditions is the use of his camera to capture those memories of hard to reach places. Throughout most of his life, Neil has been a motivated and gifted student of photography.
In 1996, he chose Gunnison Colorado as the place to settle and call home. It was an easy decision credited to both the small mountain community and the timing in his life.
Neil's interest and education accelerated dramatically while being the owner and operator of Gunnison Camera Center. During this time, he sold cameras and operated a printing lab. The aspect of the business which he was most gifted in and enjoyed the most was in using his cameras. His scenic photography became popular and sought after by locals and tourists alike. But it was his family portraits and especially his wedding photography which captured his interest. His greatest joy in photography is capturing once in a lifetime precious memories for families to treasure.
Neil has taught photography at Western State College and he photographs for the local schools since he arrived in Gunnison.
